1. How to video: Footer component

2. Footer options

While the footer component is a component of the website, it isn’t found in the same place as the rest of the varied-width components.

Finding the component settings

To create a new footer or to edit an existing one, visit Settings > Site Settings. Scrolling to the bottom will reveal the Footer Component settings.

Enable

This simple check box dictates if the footer component will be enabled or disabled.

Internal or External
  • Internal:Ā If the footer component will only be used on the specific site, the internal option is the way to go. This will create a footer component only throughout the current website.
  • External:Ā If the footer component is helpful across multiple websites, the external option is the way to go.
Title

A title for the component can be simply added to the title field to give some context to the footer.

Menu

The main links for the footer component are added using a menu. A menu must be created before it can be added to the component. If a menu has already been created, adding one is as simple as selecting the correct menu from the drop-down.

Please note that the title of the menu does matter. This will be displayed as a subheading for all the links in the menu.

Social Media

The right-hand side of the footer component has the ability to house social media links. Here’s how to create a social media link:

  1. Click the ā€œadd rowā€ button.
  2. In the ā€œIconā€ column, search for the correct social media icon to add to the component.
  3. Under the ā€œLinkā€ column, add the URL for the social media page.
  4. Under the ā€œTitleā€ column, add a label for the social media, i.e., Facebook, etc.
  5. To add additional social media links, click the ā€œadd rowā€ button and repeat steps 2-5.

3. Example Footer
