Sports: AchievementThree Earn Academic All-American HonorsFootball tackle Justin Galloway ’05, volleyball setter Liz Loveless ’05, and soccer striker Nate Micklos ’06 have been selected as Academic All-Americans by ESPN: The Magazine in recognition of their achievements in the classroom and in competition. Galloway, a chemical engineering major from Webster, New York, was named to the First Team College Academic All-American Football Team, Loveless, a chemical engineering major from Baldswinsville, New York, was named to the Second Team College Division Academic All-American Volleyball Team, and Micklos, a political science and history double major from Palatine, Illinois, was named to the College Division Academic All-America Second Team. Selections for the teams are made by College Sports Information Directors of America. Since the Academic All-America program started in 1980, Rochester student-athletes have earned a total of 54 honors. |
