1980
Roselyn Bar is a senior vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary of Martin Marietta Materials in Raleigh, N.C. . . . Jackie Levine Borek ’84 (MA) writes, “A group of Rochester alumni attended the annual Council on International Educational Exchange conference at the Bass Museum of Art in Miami last November: Georgine and Norman Neureiter ’52, Margery Ganz ’69, Jarlath McGuckin ’02, and me. Norman is a member of the board of directors of CIEE, and Margery is director of the study abroad and international exchange program and professor of history at Spelman College in Atlanta. Jarlath is campus relations coordinator at CIEE in Portland, Maine. I am assistant dean of the College and director of study abroad programs at Rochester.” . . . John Conlin was appointed to the board of directors of Pope Resources, a timber company in Poulsbo, Wash. . . . Kathy Waller ’83S (MBA) is a vice president and chief of internal audit at Coca-Cola. Kathy also is chair of the company’s ethics and compliance committee.

1981
Mark Cohen writes, “In July 2005, I was named to the new position of chief of health care informatics for Lifetime Health Medical Group’s 11 centers in Buffalo and Rochester. Previously, I was chief of internal medicine and chief of professional technology for Lifetime Health. I also oversee AfterHours Medical Care, the company’s three urgent-care centers, and continue to practice internal medicine and pediatrics at Perinton Health Center in Pittsford, N.Y.”

1982
John Kruse ’89M (PhD), ’90M (MD) writes that he and his partner, Gary Beuschel, are the fathers of twin girls, Zola and Veronica Kruschel. “The girls are healthy and happy 2-year-olds now, despite weighing less than 2 pounds each at birth,” John writes. He and his family live in San Francisco. . . . Steve Nearman writes, “I was elected president of the board of Child & Family Network Centers—free preschools for at-risk 3- and 4-year-olds in Alexandria and Arlington, Va.” Steve is president and CEO of Nearman Financial Consulting and serves on the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce’s board of directors. . . . Dan Smolnik writes, “My article, ‘Sovereignty Meets the European Union: The European Court of Justice Announces the Defeat of Keynes in Europe,’ was published in the February 2006 issue of Tax Planning International and in Corporate Restructuring.” Dan is a Sloan Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

William Ring ’85W (Mas) writes, “My wife, three children, and I live in Flagstaff, Ariz. I am a founding partner in a land development law firm managing over $1 billion in client projects throughout northern Arizona, including Flagstaff and Sedona, mainly master-planned and golf resort communities. I participated in the 2006 P. F. Chang’s Rock ’n’ Roll Arizona Half Marathon in Phoenix/Scottsdale. Any alumni planning to run the marathon in 2007 should contact me through the alumni network, and we can plan a reception or compose a team. Any former swim team members passing through or vacationing at the Grand Canyon, give me a call. Swimmers: Let’s do a reunion soon!”

Vince Amodeo and Renee Hoffman were married on September 17, 2005. They live in Vienna, Va., with six cats and three ferrets. . . . Dominic DeBonis ’88S (MBA) is controller at Advantage Federal Credit Union in Rochester. He is manager of the accounting and collection departments. . . . Dan Koharski is a systems engineer at NASA.

Navy Cmdr. Peter DeMane is deployed on the guided-missile destroyer U.S.S. Oscar Austin.

1987
Christine Fazio was promoted to counsel at the New York law firm of Carter Ledyard & Milburn. Christine is a member of the firm’s environmental group. . . . Mary Beth Bain Hynes was named to the town council of Ballston, N.Y. She will hold the seat until the November elections. Mary Beth has a private law practice in Burnt Hills, N.Y.

1988
John Blake was named a vice president of Kodak. John is general manager of digital capture and imaging products. . . . Andy Zack writes, “After dating pretty much every single Jewish woman in the city of New York, I had to cast my net farther. I’m pleased to announce that I’m engaged to marry Nadene Rosenthal of San Diego. I proposed after we completed a 109-mile bike ride with Team in Training, raising more than $7,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Fortunately, she was just delirious and dehydrated enough to say yes!”

1989
Marguerite Felsenfeld and her husband, Steven Rotstein, announce the birth of their daughter, Risa Charlotte, on September 28, 2005. Marguerite, Steven, and Risa live in Stamford, Conn.
