University Facilities and Services is excited to introduce Maryellen Zbrozek as the new sustainability programs specialist and member of the Sustainability Office. In this role, Maryellen will听primarily focus on听increasing听education and engagement in all areas of sustainability across the University community. Maryellen will also be responsible for听coordinating the publication of articles and other communications听related to sustainability initiatives in听newsletters across the University, as well as on the Sustainability website.听Looking ahead, Maryellen is excited to work on expanding existing engagement programs and encouraging all within the University community to discover how sustainability can be integrated into everything they do.听听听 听
Maryellen joins the Sustainability Office after working in corporate sustainability, where she specialized in compliance with recent EU legislation on sustainability in business. Maryellen鈥檚 background includes a Bachelor鈥檚 of Science in Ecology, Evolution, and Biodiversity, as well as a Master鈥檚 in Environmental Protection and Management. Outside of work, Maryellen is interested in inspiring more sustainable lifestyles and spending time outdoors. This has motivated her to pursue听work in an educational setting focused on creating general stewardship of the听environment听and community. In this position, she hopes to create a stronger connection between student and faculty sustainability groups, as well as the greater Rochester community.听听听听听
