Talk to your professor and/or TA about issues you may be having in class; they should always be your first point of contact. Remember, tutoring isn't a quick fix! Assess your study habits, find a study partner or join a study group. For more help schedule an appointment with our academic success coach to help address any underlying academic concerns you have.
Other Campus Resources
Computer Science Tutoring
The Computer Science Undergraduate Council (CSUG) offers free, virtual tutoring for computer science courses. Their schedule is posted weekly with the courses they offer and the zoom links for the tutors. They are open for tutoring Monday - Friday. Please for information.
Math Study Hall
The is staffed by math graduate students who will answer your questions on a walk-in basis. It is open Monday through Thursday for the Spring 2023 semester.
Society of Physics Tutoring
supports students in their study of physics. The Society of Physics Tutoring occurs every Monday - Thursday in the POA Library (B&L 374) from 7pm to 9pm. Their tutors are upperclassmen physics/astronomy majors who have experience with the introductory physics courses and are well-prepared to help answer your questions.
Tau Beta Pi Engineering Tutoring
, the Engineering Honor Society, offers group tutoring for engineering courses in Genesee 309 from 1pm - 4pm for the Fall 2024 Semester. These group tutoring session begin September 15, 2024.
Undergraduate Chemistry Society
will be holding Chemistry tutoring sessions every Monday from 8pm - 9pm in Genesee 325, and every Wednesday from 7:30 - 8:30pm in Genesee 309.
Writing, Speaking and Argument Program (WSAP)
The supports effective academic communication across all disciplines by offering free writing and speaking tutoring to all members of the University of Rochester community. WSAP is staffed by professional, graduate, and undergraduate writing and speaking tutors from the humanities, social sciences, and natural and applied sciences. These tutors provide individualized feedback and assistance on all types of academic writing and speaking. You can to get started.
Writing Groups for Undergraduates
Do you have writing to do? Do you like working with other people? Undergraduate students in the School of Arts & Sciences and the Hajim School of Engineering are invited to join a writing group hosted by the Writing and Speaking Center. Groups meet weekly for two hours via Zoom and focus on goal-setting and shared writing time. Bring any kind of academic, professional, or creative writing. Learn more and enroll online at .
