Level One

Level 1 of the Medallion Program focuses on your own development as a leader. To successfully complete this portion of the program, you will need to:

  • Complete an
  • Attend Understanding Leadership Level 1: Opening Session
  • Attend five workshops, one from each of the Medallion Program Domains:
    • Knowledge acquisition
    • Cognitive complexity
    • Intrapersonal development
    • Practical competence
    • Civic engagement
  • Complete a short reflection for each workshop found in your CCC checklist
  • Complete the Level 1 Assessment

Participation in the following fulfill all or parts of Level 1. Please specify your participation in your Enrollment Form or email medallion@rochester.edu if already enrolled.

  • Understanding Leadership, Level 1: Opening Session

    Leadership is not just about holding a position. It is more about navigating through a process that results in some kind of change. This interactive workshop focuses on leadership concepts, perspectives and viewpoints. It provides you with the opportunity to develop and enhance a personal philosophy of leadership which is necessary for you to become effective contributors to your organization(s). Understanding Leadership can be requested by filling out the Form. Groups must have at least ten people signed up to attend in order to request an opening session workshop

  • Co-hosting Workshops

    Student organizations receive 5 positive points on their (SOAR) for co-hosting Medallion workshops. Co-hosting consists of sending at minimum 5 students to the workshop and helping with advertising the workshop. Please email medallion@rochester.edu once 5 members have registered for a workshop and we will co-host the event with you on CCC and send logos for marketing

Level One Incentives

Upon completion of the requirements for Level 1, you will:

  • Receive a Level 1 pin
  • Be invited to attend the Medallion Program Reception
  • Have developed skills to be more successful at the University of ÌÇÐÄlogo been an advocate for the Meliora Vision and Values and College Competencies, and increased your capacity to be a leader
  • Have completed one third of the requirements to becoming a member of the Medallion Leadership Society
